Potty Chair on Wheels

When I see this look of pure joy...I know he's got a surprise waiting for me.

Poop happens.  Yep, you heard me right.  If you’ve ever had a kid, you know that stage where poop stops happening simultaneously and starts becoming deliberate on your baby’s part.  In the beginning, poop can happen during naps, in the bath…pretty much anywhere.  It’s as if they have no control over when and where they go (probably because they don’t).  Happy Baby has now reached this new level of skill to be able to control his poop.  You see, he will *usually* only poop if he is placed in his walker.  It’s his potty chair on wheels.

It’s like clockwork, except that it’s not.  It doesn’t really matter what time of day he is placed in his walker.  It could be morning~and he’ll poop.  It could be afternoon, early evening…whatever.  It doesn’t seem to matter.  All that matters is that he is given some time to scoot around the house and fill every room with the aroma of his filled diaper.  It’s kind of entertaining to watch him stop rolling around long enough to grip the handles of his walker and see his face fill with what appears to be concentration and determination…while his diaper fills with, well, poop.

Don't interrupt me, I'm concentrating!

This got me thinking…surely Happy Baby isn’t the only baby to do double doo-ty (pardon the pun) while playing in his walker.  How awesome would it be if his walker could also do double doo-ty (again, pardon the pun!) and serve not only as a play toy but also as a poop chair…albeit on wheels?  I think moms everywhere would be seriously stoked…until it was time to clean it out.  Oh…yeah….um…nevermind!

It became clear that this walker is his favorite place to “go” the last time we left for the weekend and he didn’t go while we were away.  He went 48 hours without pooping even once.  This in and of itself is really no cause for concern, but what if I was to leave for a week?  Or two?  Am I going to have to travel with this bulky walker??  Surely I could induce a poop with some prune juice or something…I think?  I hope!

So, where’ s the one place that your little  one feels most comfortable “going”?
